We are thrilled to announce the closing and funding of a $5,500,000 cash-out refinance for 1500 Majestic LLC, secured by the historic The Hotel Majestic at 1500 Sutter St, San Francisco, CA.

This transaction marks a first-of-its-kind milestone for the AVANA CUSO program. Redwood Credit Union originated and underwrote the loan entirely on their end — our team's role was to handle loan documentation, closing, and reallocation of the loan out to our network, where we will also be servicing it going forward.

A New Repeatable, Scalable Program for AVANA CUSO

This structure opens a broader path for credit union partners to bring their own originations to the network, with AVANA CUSO supporting the back-end process from documentation through ongoing servicing — and capturing program revenue on each transaction we facilitate.

How the Deal Came Together

Redwood Credit Union led origination and underwriting from start to finish on their platform. AVANA CUSO came in on the back end to handle loan documentation, coordinate closing, and prepare the loan for reallocation into our network — where we will also carry the servicing relationship going forward.

The collaboration was a clear demonstration of what a well-defined partnership looks like in practice: each party executing within their lane, with the borrower experience staying front and center throughout.

What This Means for the Program

This is more than a single transaction. It establishes a replicable model for how AVANA CUSO and credit union partners can work together in a new way — one where the credit union originates and underwrites on their own platform, and AVANA CUSO handles the infrastructure: loan documents, closing coordination, network reallocation, and servicing.
